The sprinklers are set up in the garden, the parsnips, carrots and potatoes planted and we are off. After a year of not travelling in order to follow our garden for a complete year our feet got itchy and we are off again. This time for a month-long holiday in Europe. Last time we were there was in 1973. Do you think anything has changed?
We are trying a river cruise for the first time and got enough of a deal that we expect to be in the aquarium room (all rooms are guaranteed a view of the river - ours might be the fish!) but the trip all the way from Budapest to Amsterdam looks amazing and we'll be exploring and absorbing every historical spot along the river.
Our following week in the Netherlands coincides with tulip time which will be beautiful and I've been boning up on my art history and hope to spend as much time inside art galleries as out in the tulip fields. Then off to Paris for a week. Bill has found us a place in the shadow of Notre Dam so we are central and will alternate art galleries with cafes and people watching. The last two days are going to be in Giverney where, while visiting Monet's garden, I'll feel I've died and gone to heaven.
Ron, Bill and I leave Victoria at the crack of dawn Monday and meet up with Pat in Calgary. Then off we go!
Good luck on this, your grand adventure! Tell Pat to behave herself. Enjoy the trip, and if she knows what's good for her, to get some earrings as souvenirs from someplace exotic.
ReplyDeleteAlso tell her that the Indians' pitching which began so well, is now faltering. Last night on national TV we got beat 11-1 by the Braves. Love to all of you!!!
