Country and castle spotting

We began the morning in Hungary then moved into Slovakia followed soon after by Austria. We passed through Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia - the modern part of the city first followed by the old city and Slovakia Castle. We passed under huge multilayered bridges moving vehicles, cyclists and trains on separate levels.
Slovakia melted into Austria and soon after our first ancient castle ruin appeared. Its position revealed careful defence planning but the onslaught of nature has had a more devastating effect than any human invader.
It is a beautiful day and shorts are appearing in our crowd. The afternoon will involve much heavy duty sun-worshipping.
Beginning sighting of modern Bratislava, capital of Slovakia
Slovakia Castle (long ship below bridge)
Now in Austria
Well-placed ancient castle

  1. The castles are definitely "way cooler" that the modern downtown. Looks like you four are enjoying wonderful scenery.
