If it's summer, it must be Schonbrunn...

In the afternoon we again walked to the station and took the underground to Schonbrunn Palace aka Maria Theresa’s Summer cottage. Originally in the country, it is now surrounded by Vienna. It was Good Friday and crazy busy but we bought timed tickets then wandered the gardens before moving to the entrance. A lower key Versailles, the gold was blinding in places - our tickets allowed us to see 20 rooms - more money, more rooms but once you’ve seen guilded, mirrored walls and painted ceilings 20 times, do you need more??
