Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery

For WMR: Hans Holbein's Jane Seymour (his famous picture of Anne of Cleves pretty much sealed her doom)

Here she is, found by looking for the crowd. Reflection of annoying chandelier in most of the photos.

Vermeer - my favourite. A View of Delft

Detail of A View of Delft. Some careful detail, other parts rough and ill-defined, water and some boats painted using techniques the impressionists learned from.

Last self-portrait of Rembrandt - Rougher technique than earlier- used his fingernails and back of brush for some of the detail. Part of beard not actually painted - used colour from backing. He was a pauper by then - out of favour with the mucky mucks.

The Goldfinch

Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery,
originally a home built in 1644 for Count Maurits, military commander and governor of Dutch Colony in Brazil
